ST. CLOUD, MN – The University of Mary tennis team bounced back in a big away against St. Cloud State today. The Marauders returned to their winning ways with an impressive 5-2 victory over St. Cloud State.
 
With the win UMary improves to 13-4 on the season and 8-4 in NSIC play.
 
The Marauders claimed the point in doubles play by sweeping all three matches.
 
The team of Tasha Dembo and Yusra Hegy trailed 0-5 at the beginning of the game before they came storming back to win 7-6 in a tie breaker.
 
The teams of Danielle Wolf / Jamie Stoppler and Kali Askvig / Kelsey Lajom both posted dominant 6-1 victories in their doubles matches.
 
Jamie Stoppler claimed the first singles victory of the day with her 6-0, 6-1 victory.
 
Kelsey Lajom kept the winning trend going by claiming a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
 
Yusra Hegy clinched the match for the Marauders, winning 6-4, 6-1.
 
Tasha Dembo claimed the fourth Marauders victory in singles play with her victory in a super tiebreaker. The match was tied at one set a piece when the Marauders sophomore won the super tiebreaker 10-4.
 
Between singles and doubles play, all six Marauders claimed a victory on the day.
 
The Marauders have one more regular season match this season. UMary will take on University of North Dakota on April 6 at 5 PM in Grand Forks, ND.
