BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary volleyball honored their four seniors, Anna Nietfeld, Gabriella Castillo, Julianna Hughes, and Breanna Donarski during their final home match in a Marauders uniform. The Marauders battled hard against #13 Wayne State College, narrowly falling in the first two sets. WSC, hitting at a .419 clip would eventually take the Marauders down in three sets. Sydney Murphy did a little bit of everything for the Marauders, posting 23 assists, six kills, a block, and an ace for the Marauders. Nehkyah Ellis recorded eight kills and eight digs.
 
With the loss the Marauders fall to 1-26 on the season and 0-18 in NSIC play. The Wildcats improve to 22-5 on the season and 13-5 in conference play.
 
PIVOT POINT
The first set was a game of runs. The Marauders jumped out to a 4-3 lead but then WSC went on a 7-0 run to go up 10-4. The Marauders then went on an 8-1 run to come within one, 15-14. The Wildcats closed on a 10-6 run to take the first set 25-20. UMary jumped out to a 9-8 lead in the second set but the Wildcats responded with a 10-2 run to go up 18-11. The Marauders fought back to make it competitive but the Wildcats closed out the set 25-18. UMary jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the third set but 10 unanswered points by WSC put them up big and gave them momentum to close out the set with a 25-10 win.

Sydney Murphy could not be stopped during the match. Her tips over the net proved to be very successful, posting six kills and an astounding .600 hitting percentage. She added 23 assists, four digs, a block, and an ace during the match.

The Marauders wrap up their season next weekend with a pair of road games. UMary will take on SMSU on Friday, November 15 at 6 PM. They will concluded their season at USF on Saturday, November 16 at noon.
