Sydney Murphy highlighted the University of Mary's efforts in a hard fought, four set loss against #17 Southwest Minnesota State. The Marauders took the second set against the talented Mustangs. The Marauders were able to hit .177 on the match including hitting .200 in the second set and .250 in the fourth. SMSU was able to hit at a clip of .326 to help lead them to victory.
With the loss, UMary falls to 1-27 on the season and 0-20 in NSIC play. SMSU improves to 17-10 and 11-8 in the conference.
PIVOT POINT
After the Mustangs took the first set, they jumped out to a 14-6 lead in the second but the Marauders didn't give up, fighting back with several big runs to claim the second set 25-22. SMSU took the third set. The Marauders attempted to even the score up at two sets a piece trailing 12-14 midway through the fourth. SMSU then rallied together an 11-3 run to claim the set and the match.

Sydney Murphy has continued to do a bit of everything for the Marauders. Murphy has recorded plenty of assists as a setter should but its been her kills that have stood out. After recording six kills with a .600 hitting percentage last game, she upped it even more today. Murphy posted six kills with an incredible .857 hitting percentage.
