ABERDEEN, SD – A dominant performance at the net highlighted the Marauders in their loss to #7 Northern State. The Marauders held a 4-3 advantage in blocks over the Wolves but despite big blocks, the Wolves were able to sweep UMary in three sets.
With the loss the Marauders fall to 1-23 on the season and 0-15 in NSIC play. The Wolves improve to 19-4 overall and 12-3 in the conference.
PIVOT POINT
The Wolves jumped went of a 17-4 run to help them jump out to a 20-7 lead in the first set. The early momentum carried them to a set victory. UMary was able to take an early 6-4 lead in the second set but the Wolves stormed back, going on a 12-1 to take a 16-7 lead and eventually the set. With momentum on their side, the Wolves jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the third set and eventually took the set 25-9, claiming the match.

The Marauders posted a game high in blocks against #7 NSU. The Wolves rank second in the conference in blocks but that did not deter the Marauders from recording more blocks then them on the match. UMary recorded four blocks compared to three by the Wolves.
