Billhardt Earns Shutout In Scoreless Draw With DWU On UMary Senior Night

BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary men's soccer team honored their four outstanding seniors during their final home game of the season. Jaden Allen, Lukas Billhardt, Mitch Carter, and Adam Stringer played their final game in Bismarck, under the lights, at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. The Marauders gained a tie against Dakota Wesleyan University.

Prior to the season beginning, senior Lukas Billhardt stated that his goal for the season was to "get more shutouts" and he did just that tonight. The Marauders keeper recorded four saves on the game and earned his first shutout of the season in the scoreless draw. Another senior, Jaden Allen helped ensure the shutout with his stout defense all game, reducing the amount of shots Billhardt had to face.

Mitch Carter and Adam Stringer each had their opportunities to score. Carter recorded three shots, one being on goal and Stringer had two shots with one being on goal.

Tresor Mugawaneza led the Marauders with five shots, three being on goal. Keaton Boehm and Blake Palmquist each had four shots on the game and two on goal.

UMary certainly had their opportunities to score. As a team, the Marauders outshot the Tigers 23-8 and 11-4 in shots on goal.

The Marauders put six shots on goal in the first period, one in the second, three in the first overtime, and one in the second overtime.

The Marauders will wrap up the regular season with a five game road stretch. The road stretch begins with a game against Mount Marty College in Yankton, SD on Monday, October 14.
