YANKTON, SD – The University of Mary men's soccer men's soccer team traveled to Yankton, SD to take on the Mount Marty College Lancers. The Marauders and Lancers found themselves in a scoreless draw at half. Three straight goals by MMC in the second half put the game out of reach for the Marauders, falling to the Lancers by a score of 3-1.
With the loss the Marauders fall to 1-9-1 on the season. Mount Marty's improves to 4-7.
Tresor Mugawaneza got the Marauders on the board in the 88
th minute. The UMary freshman recorded his team high, fourth goal of the season, off of an assist from Kevin Portugues. This was Portugues' first assist of the season.
The Marauders goal was too little, too late as it brought the score to 3-1 with just over a minute remaining in the game. The Lancers recorded goals in the 51
st, 70
th, and 88
th minute of play.
The Marauders would dominate the shot chart, doubling up the Lancers 23-11 in shots. UMary also held the advantage 14-8 in shots on goal.

Evandro Henrique, and
Adam Stringer all tied for the game high with three shots on goal.
UMary would hold a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks as well.
The Marauders return home for 12 days before making a trip to the Sunshine State. In Florida, UMary will play in three games between October 26 and November 2. The Marauders will kick off their road trip with a game against Florida Southern on Saturday, October 26 in Lakeland, FL.
