BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary swimming and diving kicked off their season with a quad dual against Sioux Falls, Northern State, and Augustana this weekend. The Marauders competed in 24 events, in three sessions, over a two day period. UMary was headlined by 15 top three finishes over the quad dual. The Marauders NSIC Athletes to Watch Victoria Murillo and Mariah Stewart each claimed event victories.
The Marauders went 1-2 during the quad dual, claiming victory over Northern State.
Victoria Murillo, the defending 200 free NSIC champ claimed victory in the event this weekend. She cruised through the pool in a time of 1:56.78. Murillo earned two second place finishes over the weekend. She raced to second in the 100 fly (59.98 seconds) and 50 yard breaststroke (31.49).
Alyssa Boese earned a second place finish in the 50 yard backstroke. She raced through the pool in a time of 28.30 seconds, just one tenth of a second behind the event winner. Boese finished in third in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.17.
Mariah Stewart claimed two event wins, winning the one meter and three meter diving events.
Rachel Riedel earned a second place finish in the 200 yard backstroke, recording a time of 2:14.49.
Freshman, Rylie Webb earned a second, third, and fourth place finish. Webb raced to a second place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:07.75. She added a third place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:32.30) and a fourth place finish in the 50 yard breaststroke (31.78 seconds).
Freshman, Hannah Espinosa took third in the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.53.
The team of Boese, Espinosa, Murillo, and Breena Delegge raced to a second place finish in the 200 yard medley relay (1:51.31).
Boese, Webb, Mackenzie Houston, and Delegge teamed up for a third place finish in the 400 yard medley relay (4:07.42).
In the 400 yard freestyle relay, Lee, Houston, Delegge, and Murillo finished in third with a time of 3:46.43.
Delegge, Murphy, Murillo, and Lee took a third place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:05.97.
Andrea Lee earned fourth place finishes in the 1650 free (18:28.14) and 1000 free (11:00.87).
Kate Murphy earned a fourth place finish in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:17.29.
