BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary volleyball team welcomed national powerhouse Minnesota Duluth to town for a match today. The Marauders gave the Bulldogs all they had but #3 UMD was able to sweep UMary in three sets. Sydney Murphy reached a major career milestone on the evening, recording her 1,000th career assist.
With the loss the Marauders fall to 1-13 on the season and 0-5 in conference play. The Bulldogs improve to 12-1 overall and 5-0 in NSIC play.
PIVOT POINT
The Marauders were able to hang tough with the Bulldogs early on in each set, but big runs by UMD proved to be the difference in the match. Five different times throughout the match UMD was able to go on 4-0 or 5-0 runs to put some separation between them and the Marauders.

The Marauders setter Sydney Murphy reached a major career milestone. She recorded her 1,000th career assist during the match. She now sits at 1,016 assists during her career. Murphy accomplished this feat just 14 games into her junior season.
