THIS WEEK
Back home after their longest conference road trip of the season, the University of Mary women's soccer team starts a string of playing three of their final four regular season games at home. The Marauders host the University of Minnesota Duluth on Friday, Nov. 1, at 1 pm at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. UMary then makes its last regular season road trip when the Marauders visit St. Cloud State University on Sunday, Nov. 3, in St. Cloud, MN, in a matchup of two teams tied for fifth in the conference standings.

RECORDS
The Marauders enter the weekend with a mark of 8-3-2 overall and 6-3-2 for 20 points. The Marauders are in a three-way tie for fifth place with St. Cloud State and Wayne State College… Minnesota Duluth is 5-8-2 overall and 3-7-2 for 11 points and 11
th place in the NSIC… St. Cloud State is 7-4-3 overall and tied with UMary and Wayne State for 5
th in the NSIC at 6-3-2 for 20 points.

PLAYOFF POSITIONING
Four games remain in the 2019 regular season for UMary, including the make-up date of the Marauders conference opener against Northern State. Currently the Marauders are tied for fifth with St. Cloud State and Wayne State as all three teams have 20 points. UMary and SCSU both have played 11 games while WSC has 12. In fourth place is Bemidji State with 28 points. The Beavers have three games remaining to four for UMary and SCSU. Right behind the Marauders, Huskies and Wildcats is Southwest Minnesota State and Winona State, tied for eighth place with 18 points each and three games remaining… The top eight teams in the conference standings qualify for the NSIC postseason tournament with the top four teams hosting the first round. The top-seeded team after the first round will host the semifinals and the championship game. The Northern Sun postseason champion earns an automatic spot in the NCAA regional tournament.

FAST START
The Marauders are 8-3-2 to tie UMary's NCAA era mark for the program's best start through 13 games. The 2017 Marauders squad posted an identical record at the same mile marker. The 2017 side finished 12-5-1 overall and advanced to the NSIC playoff semifinals.

REWIND
The Marauders saw their three-game win streak snapped in a 2-1 loss at Winona State. Winona State scored the first two goals of the game – both in the second half – before
Maureen Sullivan found the net with just eight minutes left in the game…
Hannah Richter scored two goals – both off assists from
Sidney Burrell – and the Marauders closed the weekend with a 2-1 win at Upper Iowa in double overtime. Richter scored the opening goal of the 77
th minute. The Peacocks followed with a counter in the 88
th minute to force overtime. Richter ended the game in the 103
rd minute. Burrell's shot struck off the crossbar and Richter knocked home the rebound.

RICHTER EARNS NSIC POTW SPECIAL MENTION
Hannah Richter received NSIC Player of the Week Other Top Performances mention after scoring two goals at Upper Iowa, including a golden goal in the 103
rd minute. Richter leads the Marauders with six goals. She is tied for eighth in the NSIC in goals. The junior forward is second in the NSIC with a team-leading three game-winning goals. She is also eighth in the NSIC for points with 15 (six goals, three assists)… Richter was named the NSIC Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season after scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over then-#4 Minnesota State… In addition to her three game-winners, she also provided the first assist on three other game-winners by her teammates.

HELPING HAND
Malia Brudvik is 7
th in the NSIC in assists with five. She had two in a 3-0 win over SMSU and earned NSIC Defensive Player of the Week honors for her efforts that weekend.

The Marauders defense has been stellar through the first 13 games of the season. UMary ranks 13
th in the nation and second in the NSIC in goals against average (0.436) and third in save percentage (.912). The team has allowed just six goals – more than one goal in a game just once - and posted eight shutouts. The opposition has been limited to only 10.2 shots/game with 5.1 shots in frame/game).

Madisyn Waltman continues to climb the UMary all-time goalkeeper shutouts leaderboard. The sophomore now has 16 clean sheets. The record is 25 by Kristin Werner, followed by Rachael Dietrich (22), Brannigan Coyle (20), Carly Feiler (17) and Waltman (16). Â

PENINSULA POWER
The Marauders have two transfers from Peninsula College in Post Angeles, WA, and the pair combined for the Marauders final goal against Wayne State.
Samantha Guzman, a junior defender in her first season at UMary scored the goal with an assist going to
Malia Brudvik, a senior defender who had previously played with Guzman at Peninsula. The pair also combined for a goal against SMSU with Guzman scoring the counter off a Brudvik assist.

SEMIS SWEET
The University of Mary has advanced to the Northern Sun tournament's semifinals for the last two years, a feat accomplished by the Marauders, Minnesota State and Augustana in the 16-team league.

MARAUDERS-WOLVES GAME RESCHEDULED FOR NOV. 6
The University of Mary match against Northern State University postponed due to lightning is rescheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6. Game time is 4 pm at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.

25th SEASON OF MARAUDERS SOCCER
The first University of Mary soccer teams took to the pitch for the first time in 1995 and this season we are celebrating 25 seasons of Marauders men's and women's soccer.

G-OOOOOOO-AL
The Marauders exploded for seven goals in a 7-0 win against the Golden Eagles on Oct. 14 to set a team record for counters in an NCAA game. Additionally three Marauders –
Noelle Vigneri,
Maureen Sullivan and
Emma Davies – each scored two goals and had an assist in the game. This is the first time UMary had thee players score two or more goals each in an NCAA game. The previous best was two when
Amy Tanaka and
Megan Wilson both tallied twice against MSU Moorhead on Oct. 12, 2008… The Marauders peppered the UMC net with 32 shots, a total exceeded by the school in an NCAA contest just once when UMary fired 43 shots at Sioux Falls in 2007. UMary finished with 26 shots on frame against UMC. The Golden Eagles had 10 total shots with just one on net… Not to be overlooked in the offensive onslaught, the Marauders posted two goals in just 15 seconds to open the scoring against UMC.

Noelle Vigneri doubled the Marauders lead at 15:46.Â
