After a week on the road, the University of Mary women's soccer team returns home to celebrate 25 seasons of Marauders soccer by playing a pair of Northern Sun contests. The weekend series opens with a visit from 4
th ranked Minnesota State University on Friday, Oct. 4, at 3 pm. On Sunday, Oct. 6, the Marauders host Concordia—St. Paul in a 1 pm match. Both games will be played at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.

RECORDS
The Marauders enter the weekend with a mark of 3-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the NSIC… Minnesota State is 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the NSIC… Concordia-St. Paul is 6-0-1 overall and 3-0-1 in the NSIC.

WEEKEND CHALLENGE
UMary hosts a pair of powerhouses this weekend. Minnesota State is the defending NSIC champion and is ranked fourth in the country. Concordia-St. Paul is tied with Bemidji State and Augustana for the lead of the NSIC after two weeks with 10 points apiece.

MARAUDERS-WOLVES GAME RESCHEDULED FOR NOV. 6
The University of Mary match against Northern State University postponed due to lightning is rescheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6. Game time is 4 pm at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.

25th SEASON OF MARAUDERS SOCCER CELEBRATION
The first University of Mary soccer teams took to the pitch for the first time in 1995 and this season we are celebrating 25 seasons of Marauders men's and women's soccer! All former Marauders soccer players and coaches are invited to campus the weekend of Oct. 5-6, 2019, to celebrate the rich history of both programs. On Saturday, Oct. 5, an Alumni Social will be held on campus. Both the women's and men's teams then play a doubleheader on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the MDU Resources Community Bowl. Starting the day with tailgating and hamburgers available for purchase from Reza's Pitch at 10 am, the UMary women host Concordia-St. Paul at 1 pm before the men's side takes on Presentation College at 3:30 pm. REZA'S PITCH SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER MAKES RETURN ON SUNDAY, OCT. 6
For a second straight year, Reza's Pitch is making a special one-day limited appearance. In celebration of the 25th season of University of Mary soccer, Reza's Pitch returns Sunday, Oct. 6, prior to the Marauders men's and women's soccer doubleheader as a scholarship fundraiser for both programs… From 10 am to 1 pm on Sunday, Oct. 6, in the MDU Resources Community Bowl north parking lot, employees of the old Reza's Pitch, spearheaded by owner Reza Kamranian, will serve their classic burgers featuring many of your favorite toppings once again.The cost for a burger, chips, water and a ticket to the Marauders soccer doubleheader is $15. The price for fans who have a Marauders season ticket, a ticket to one of Sunday's games or are 12 years of age or younger is $10… All proceeds from the Reza's Pitch event supports the University of Mary Marauders Armada, which directly benefits student-athlete scholarships. Support for the Marauders Armada provides UMary students the opportunity to receive a world-class education while competing in NCAA Division II athletics.

The Marauders men's and women's soccer doubleheader on Sunday, Oct. 6, will be broadcast statewide throughout North Dakota by the BEK Broadcasting Network. The UMary women's game against Concordia-St. Paul is scheduled for 1 pm. The UMary men's soccer game against Presentation College is slated for 3:30 pm, both from the MDU Resources Community Bowl in Bismarck, ND. Corey Brooks will call the game for BEK Sports. Making their first Northern Sun road trip of the season, the Marauders opened their two-game southern swing with a 1-0 loss at Augustana. The Augie goal was the first allowed by the Marauders this season. On Sunday the Marauders swept past Wayne State College 4-0, UMary first half goals were scored by

Madisyn Waltman posted four saves to earn her fourth shutout of the season.

The Marauders defense has been stellar through the first five games of the season. UMary has allowed just one goal and posted four shutouts. The opposition has been limited to only 42 shots (8.4/game) with a scant 20 on frame (4.0/game).

The Marauders lead the Northern Sun with a team goals against average of a nearly-microscopic .191, over twice as low as second place Northern State's .496.

With an dominant lock down defense, the Marauders rank third in the country in Goals Allowed Average at .191… the Marauders shutout percentage of .800 is seventh… UMary's save percentage of 0.95 is second…
Madisyn Waltman is fourth in NCAA Division II in goals against average (0.191) and fifth in save percentage (0.947).

OUTBURST
The Marauders four goals against the Wildcats was the most UMary has scored in a game since beating Minnesota Crookston 4-1 in October 2017. The four-goal margin was the most since defeating MSU Moorhead 5-0 in the final game of the 2015 season.

PENINSULA POWER
The Marauders have two transfers from Peninsula College in Post Angeles, WA, and the pair combined for the Marauders final goal against Wayne State.
Samantha Guzman, a junior defender in her first season at UMary scored the goal with an assist going to
Malia Brudvik, a senior defender who had previously played with Guzman at Peninsula.

The University of Mary has advanced to the Northern Sun tournament's semifinals for the last two years, a feat accomplished by the Marauders, Minnesota State and Augustana in the 16-team league.

2019 NSIC WEEKLY RECOGNITION
All-NSIC midfielder/defender Kylee Welsh was named the NSIC Defensive Player of the Week following the Marauders opening weekend as she played a key role in both game-winning goals, had an assist and keyed a defensive effort that led to a pair of shutouts… Sophomore goalkeeper
Madisyn Waltman was listed among the top performers by the NSIC after recording two shutout victories on opening weekend.
