BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary volleyball team welcomed Concordia – St. Paul to town today. The Marauders were determined to take down national powerhouse, CSP. UMary was able to hold the advantage at the net, recording more blocks on the game but the #5 Golden Bears were able to show why they are one of the nations top teams, downing the Marauders in three sets.
 
With the loss, UMary falls to 1-19 on the season and 0-11 in conference play. The Golden Bears improve to 15-4 overall and 9-2 in NSIC play.
 
PIVOT POINT
CSP took control of the match early, jumping out to a 9-3 lead in the first set. Gaining early momentum, the Golden Bears never looked back, taking down the Marauders in three straight sets. A pivotal stat in the game was CSP's ability to record eight aces on the match compared to zero for UMary.

The Marauders are back on the road next weekend for a long road trip south to play Winona State and Upper Iowa. UMary takes on WSU on Friday, October 25 at 6 PM in Winona, MN. They will follow that up with a match against Upper Iowa on Saturday, October 26 at 2 PM in Fayette, IA.
