BISMARCK, ND – A strong defensive performance with a total of nine blocks on the game could not propel the University of Mary volleyball team past Minnesota State – Mankato. The Mavericks took the Marauders down in three sets.
Nehkyah Ellis continued to impress, leading the Marauders in both kills and digs on the match.
With the loss, UMary falls to 1-18 on the season and 0-10 in NSIC play. Minnesota State improves to 13-5 overall and 6-4 in conference play.
PIVOT POINT
The Marauders came out firing on all cylinders early in the first set, jumping out to an 8-5 lead over the Mavericks. With the match tied at 19 late in the set, MSU rallied together four straight points as part of a 6-2 run to take the first set. With momentum on their side, MSU strung together a few big runs in the second and third set to claim victory.
