UMary Swimming and Diving Earn 12 Event Wins in Victory Over SMSU

MARSHALL, MN – The University of Mary swimming and diving team had an impressive day in the pool against Southwest Minnesota State, earning 12 event wins on the day. The 12 event wins led to a 194-83 victory for the Marauders to bring their record to 2-2 on the season. First year program SMSU earned four event wins in their first ever NSIC home meet.
 
The Marauders started out the meet by claiming victories in the first seven events.
 
The team of Alyssa Boese, Rylie Webb, Mackenzie Houston, and Victoria Murillo got the winning going with a near nine second victory in the 200 yard medley with a time of 1:53.31. The squad of Casi Boehm, Erica Mitchell, Abby Loel, and Kate Murphy took third in the event with a time of 2:04.36.
 
Andrea Lee claimed victory by over 50 seconds in the 1000 free with her time of 10:49.02. Luisa Garcia took third with a time of 11:44.56.
 
Victoria Murillo took home a win in the 200 free by 0.03 seconds with a time of 1:56.41. Kate Murphy took third in the race with a time of 2:05.49.
 
Alyssa Boese won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.87. In third, was Rachel Riedel with a time of 1:03.26.
 
Three Marauders freshman went 1, 2, 3 in the 100 yard breaststroke. Rylie Webb took first with a time of 1:08.03. Hannah Espinosa claimed second with a 1:11.63 and Erica Mitchell rounded out the top three with her time of 1:15.60.
 
Luisa Garcia claimed the 200 yard fly with a time of 2:26.81. In second was Gracie Zottnick with a time of 2:32.49.
 
Breena Delegge claimed the 50 yard free with a time of 25.30. Andrea Lee took third in the race with a time of 26.67.
 
Breena Delegge followed her 50 free up with a second place finish in the 100 free with a time of 55.72. Andrea Lee took third with a time of 59.97.
 
Rachel Riedel took the win in the 200 yard backstroke with a time of 2:12.90. Right behind her in second was Alyssa Boese with a time of 2:13.89.
 
Espinosa and Mitchell went second and third in the 200 yard breaststroke. Espinosa finished in a time of 2:34.62 and Mitchell in 2:41.54.
 
The Marauders took the top three spots in the 500 yard free. Lee claimed first by over 30 seconds with a time of 5:17.49. Mary Williamson took second (5:48.14) and Annie Corbett finished in third (5:58.73).
 
Breena Delegge took first in the 100 fly with a time of 1:01.23. Just a tenth of a second behind her was Mackenzie Houston who posted a second place finish with a time of 1:01.33.
 
Mariah Stewart claimed first in the 3 meter diving with a score of 200.55. She took second in the 1 meter diving event.
 
Rylie Webb won the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:13.39. Victoria Murillo finished right behind her with a time of 2:13.47.
 
The team of Delegge, Murphy, Boese, and Murillo took second in the 400 yard freestyle relay (3:46.80). The group of Melissa Andrews, Sarah Dudley, Hannah Espinsoa, and Megan Manly took third (3:59.52).
 
The Marauders hop right back in the pool tomorrow for a dual against Augustana. The Marauders and Vikings begin racing at 10 AM tomorrow, October 19 in Sioux Falls, SD.
