BEMIDJI, MN – Morgan Schnabel's 500th career kill combined with a breakout performance by freshman Nehkyah Ellis highlighted the University of Mary volleyball team in a highly competitive match against the Bemidji State Beavers. UMary was able to claim the second set against the Beavers but BSU took the first, third, and fourth to give themselves the win. Ellis and Schnabel both recorded big double-doubles on the game with Murphy falling one dig shy of joining them. An astounding 10 different Marauders recorded kills against the Beavers. UMary held the advantage in blocks against BSU as well.
With the loss, UMary falls to 1-16 on the season and 0-8 in conference play.
PIVOT POINT
With the Beavers claiming the first set, UMary stormed back to claim the second to even things up at one set each by winning the second. BSU claimed the third leaving the Marauders down 2-1. 25 points was not enough to decide a winner in the fourth set. The Marauders held a 28-27 lead late, attempting to force a fifth set but three straight points by the Beavers gave them a 30-28 set win to claim the match.

Morgan Schnabel reached a major career milestone just 17 games into her junior season. The Marauders junior recorded her 500th career kill on the game. She now has 508 career kills. Schnabel posted her second straight double-double to reach the milestone with her 13 kills, 14 digs performance. This was her fifth double-double of the season.
