Coming off a tremendous home stand featuring a win over the 4
th ranked team in the nation and a draw with the team that was first in the NSIC standings, the University of Mary women's soccer team travels east to face the University of Minnesota Crookston Golden Eagles and the Beavers of Bemidji State University. In a game relocated to the East Grand Forks (MN) Senior High School field the Marauders first face the Golden Eagles at 11 am on Friday, Oct. 11. The weekend concludes on Sunday, Oct. 13, when the Marauders visit the Beavers in Bemidji, MN. Kickoff is 1 pm at Chet Anderson Stadium.

MARAUDERS-GOLDEN EAGLES GAME MOVED TO EAST GRAND FORKS AT 11 AM
Wintery weather has changed the location and start time of the University of Mary women's soccer game against the University of Minnesota Crookston scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11. Anticipating poor weather, the Marauders-Golden Eagles game will be played at 11 am on the East Grand Forks Senior High School turf field in East Grand Forks, MN. East Grand Forks High School is located at 1420 4th Ave. NW in East Grand Forks, MN.

The Marauders enter the weekend with a mark of 4-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the NSIC… Minnesota Crookston is 0-7 overall and 0-6 in the NSIC… Bemidji State is 6-2-1 overall and 5-0-1 to tie for first in the NSIC with 16 points.

BACK AGAIN
The Marauders last played at Bemidji State University on Oct. 31 in the opening round of the 2018 NSIC playoffs. UMary ended BSU's conference tournament hopes when the Marauders knocked the nation's 4
th ranked and NSIC regular-season champion Beavers out of the tournament in a shootout after the two teams played to a scoreless draw.

The Marauders are 4-1-2 through seven games. This is the fewest losses the team has had through seven games since beginning to compete in the NCAA in 2006. In 2011 the Marauders were 5-2 and on their way to a record of 11-8-1... The last time the Marauders had four wins after seven games was 2017 when UMary was 4-2-1. That side finished 12-5-1 overall and advanced to the NSIC playoff semifinals... In 2007 UMary began the year 4-3 before finishing 16-7 and earning the programs only NCAA tournament berth. Â Â

The Marauders had a huge home weekend, gaining four of a possible six points against 4
th ranked Minnesota State and the then-NSIC-leading Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears.
Hannah Richter scored two goals to lead the Marauders in a 2-1 win over the Mavericks. It was the highest-ranked team UMary has defeated in the regular season… The Marauders then played the Golden Bears to a 0-0 scoreless draw with

The Marauders defense has been stellar through the first seven games of the season. UMary ranks third in the nation in goals against average (0.27) and second in save percentage (.95). The team has allowed just two goals and posted five shutouts. The opposition has been limited to only 71 shots (10.1/game) with 39 on frame (5.6/game).

The Marauders have two transfers from Peninsula College in Post Angeles, WA, and the pair combined for the Marauders final goal against Wayne State.
Samantha Guzman, a junior defender in her first season at UMary scored the goal with an assist going to
Malia Brudvik, a senior defender who had previously played with Guzman at Peninsula.

The University of Mary has advanced to the Northern Sun tournament's semifinals for the last two years, a feat accomplished by the Marauders, Minnesota State and Augustana in the 16-team league.

The University of Mary match against Northern State University postponed due to lightning is rescheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6. Game time is 4 pm at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.

The first University of Mary soccer teams took to the pitch for the first time in 1995 and this season we are celebrating 25 seasons of Marauders men's and women's soccer.

The Marauders are back home to host Southwest Minnesota State University at 7 pm on Friday, Oct. 18, on Senior Players and Parents Recognition Night and the University of Sioux Falls on Sunday, Oct. 20, at 1 pm. Both games will be played at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
