BISMARCK, ND – The University of Mary doubles combination of senior Eileen Leong and freshman Tasha Dembo remained perfect on the year but the Marauders efforts in doubles play was unable to offset Bemidji State University's impressive singles play in the Beavers 6-3 victory over UMary in Northern Sun action.
 
The Marauders (5-8 overall, 3-6 NSIC) claimed wins in the top two doubles matches and earned a victory at #1 singles. The Beavers (7-4, 5-4) won five of the six singles matches.
 
PIVOT POINT
The Marauders and the Beavers split the two longest matches of the day at #1 and #2 singles as both went to a super tiebreaker. Dembo claimed victory in the top singles match of the day, defeating Zoe Lindgren 6-1, 2-6, 10-7. It was the third and final won of the day for the Marauders.
 
Bemidji State's Adriana Lopez-Sims rallied past Lucia Bolibruch 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 in second singles. The Beavers victory provided the top of five singles wins for BSU.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Dembo and Leong claimed the top doubles match by a score of 8-5. When paired together, the duo is 6-0 on the season.
 
Bolibruch and Kelsey Lajom combined to win the #2 doubles match 8-6.
 
The Marauders just missed a clean sweep in doubles when Lisa Anderson and Emily Bichler were edged 9-8 at #3 doubles.
 
Dembo improves to 6-1 in singles play for the Marauders.
 
STAT OF THE GAME
Both teams posted advantages in different facets of play. The Marauders won 2-of-3 doubles matches while the Beavers claimed 5-of-6 singles matches.
 
NEXT UP
The Marauders close out the regular season against Winona State University and Upper Iowa University on April 7-8 in Winona, MN. The top eight teams advance to the NSIC tournament beginning April 20.
