DULUTH, MN – Taking on one of the fastest starting teams in the country, the University of Mary held 5
th ranked University of Minnesota Duluth scoreless through the first quarter. The Marauders were unable to continue keeping the Bulldogs in check as UMD found its offensive footing during a big second quarter on the way to a 55-0 victory over visiting UMary.
UMary's defense stood firm in the opening stanza, forcing UMD to fumble away its first possession and stopping the Bulldogs on fourth down to end its second drive.

Maxwell Askew broke up a pass to turn possession over to the Marauders.
The Bulldogs entered the game outscoring their opposition 111-3 in the opening quarter.
With the Marauders unable to move the ball offensively against the nation's best defense, the Bulldogs scored on their next three possessions and eight of ten. UMD led 27-0 at intermission and tacked on 14 points in each of the third and fourth quarters.
Luke Little paced the Marauders with two catches for 47 yards, hauling grabs of 26 and 21 yards.
Garrett Weissinger also hauled in a 22 yard reception from freshman quarterback
Jason Hoekstra.
Nielsen led the Marauders with 10 tackles (five solo) and a fumble recovery.
Noah Krebs had a sack and seven tackles. Ryan Naki and
Cyrano Rayfield both added tackles for loss. Askew finished with five tackles and broke up three passes.
Seven different Bulldogs scored touchdowns with Johnny McCormick catching three passes for 60 yards and a team-best two scores. Zach Ojile ran for 120 yards and a score. Alex Helmer had three of UMD's seven sacks.
The Bulldogs outgained the Marauders 625-59. With the sacks, the Marauders had -14 yards rushing in the game.
The Marauders close out the regular season at the University of Minnesota Crookston on Saturday, Nov. 10, at 1 pm.
