Marauders open home schedule Friday with visit from Centurions

THIS WEEK
After playing their first three games of the season on the road, the University of Mary men's basketball team hosts Yellowstone Christian College for the Marauders home opener on Friday, Nov. 16. The start of six straight home games, the Marauders and the Centurions tip off at 7:30 pm at the McDowell Activity Center.

THE RECORD
The Marauders are 0-3 overall. UMary begins its Northern Sun schedule Dec. 1 when Minot State University visits the MAC.

LAST TIME OUT
The Marauders have suffered three straight heartbreaking setbacks to open the season. Last weekend in a pair of neutral site games in Lancaster, TX, on the Cedar Valley College campus, UMary dropped a 66-63 decision to Henderson State University and 64-59 to Southern Arkansas University in a Northern Sun-Great American Conference crossover challenge between the two conferences. The Marauders had possession of the ball with an opportunity to pull even in the final minute of both games. Jaylan White and Tom Kubank led the Marauders with 14 points each in the opener against the Reddies. White followed with a team-best 17 points against the Muleriders the next night… UMary tumbled 56-53 at MSU Billings on Wednesday in similar fashion to the first two games. The Marauders had opportunities to pull even in the final minute but couldn't pick up a needed basket. Kubank had a good look at a long three-pointer as time expired but his shot went off the front rim. Matthew Kreklow led the Marauders with 16 points.
