BISMARCK, ND – Headlined by a new school record from Mackenzie Houston, the University of Mary claimed all 14 races and sailed past Concordia College 160-75 in the Marauders first home meet of the season.
 
A freshman from Almonte, Ontario, Canada, Houston posted a mark of 27.10 seconds to take the 50 yard butterfly and set a new Marauders record.  Houston later claimed a win in the 50 yard breaskstroke (33.07 seconds) and the 200 yard individual medley (2:16.97).
 
Just missing a school record was fellow freshman Abbey Zajdzinski, who posted a time of
28.28 seconds in the 50 yard backstroke. The native of Mesa, AZ, also claimed the top time in the 100 yard free (55.84 seconds).
 
"Across the board this was probably our best meet of the season," said Marauders head coach Allan McCallum. "We switched up our lineup a little bit and gave the swimmers an opportunity to swim some different events and I thought they really competed well.
 
"The past couple of weeks we have really been training well. It was very encouraging seeing how positively the team competed after a couple of hard weeks of work."
 
The Marauders opened up the day with a strong performance in the 200 yard medley relay with Alyssa Boese, Mary Williamson, Zajdzinski and Houston combining for the win in 1:54.13.
 
Kate Murphy posted her first individual win of the day in the 1000 yard freestyle, clocking a time of 10:58.93. She followed with the top performance in the 100 yard backstroke (1:03.16).
 
Williamson was right behind with her first individual win, clocking a time of 1:59.88 in the 200 yard freestyle. She also won the 100 yard breaststroke (1:11.18).
 
Boese would win the 100 yard butterfly in 1:01.81 before taking the 500 yard freestyle (5:24.29).
 
The Marauders quartet of Boese, Murphy, Zajdzinski and Williamson capped the day by combining to swim the 400 yard freestyle relay in 3:46.84.
