THIS WEEK
After taking a three-week respite due to the holidays, the University of Mary wrestling team gets back on the mat with a pair of in-state duals on the road. The Marauders first grapple with the University of Jamestown in a non-conference match at 7 pm on Friday, Jan. 6. The weekend concludes with a visit to Minot State University on Sunday, Jan. 8, for a Northern Sun meeting in the Battle for the Barrel. Start time between the Beavers and the Marauders is 3 pm.
 
THE RECORD
The Marauders are 1-2 this season and 0-1 in the Northern Sun.
 
LAST TIME OUT
In the annual Santa Claus Dual, the Marauders scored big points in four wins and edged Minot State University 20-18. Tate Barnhardt opened the Marauders scoring with a technical fall win at 133. Down 9-5, Dane Fischer and Paul Michaelson scored back-to-back wins by pinfall at 157 and 165, respectively, to put Mary back in front. At 197, Jacob Green earned the Marauders final points of the night in a 3-1 decision to secure the non-conference match.
 
YOUNG
The Marauders lineup features no seniors and three juniors in the starting lineup. Currently Jordan Hegel, Dane Fischer and Paul Michaelson are the lone upperclassmen in this week's lineup. The other seven slots are held down by five sophomores and two freshmen.

LEADERBOARD
Sophomore Tate Barnhardt is off to another impressive start and leads the Marauders in wins (12) and falls (5). He is 7-2 this season against NCAA Division II competition… Fr. Austin Eichmann is 8-3 at 174 and has the team's top winning percentage but is currently sidelined by injury… Soph. Nate Human also has eight wins for Mary this year.
 
RANKED
Three Marauders earned a spot in the D2Wrestle.com Super Region 3 rankings. At 133, sophomore Tate Barnhardt is ranked seventh. 157-pounder Dane Fisher, a junior, holds down the Marauders best ranking at fifth in his weight class. Junior Paul Michaelson checks in at eighth at 165 pounds. 
 
RANKED II
The Marauders are ranked 12^th out of 15 teams in NCAA Division II Super Region III by D2Wrestle.com. Mary is 7^th out of the nine teams in the NSIC.
 
ON THE HORIZON
Next up for Mary is a busy weekend at the Midwest Duals on January 14, in Kearney, NE. The Marauders will face four squads in one day: New Mexico Highlands, Central Missouri, Western State Colorado and Colorado School of Mines.
