RMC Scores Three Goals in the First Period to Beat Marauders 4-0

Bismarck, N.D. - Rocky Mountain College (2-2-0) used three first period goals to topple the University of Mary (4-2-0) 4-0 on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the MDU Community Resources Bowl.
 
Sophomore goal keeper Ludvig Rhodin made six saves including a penalty kick save but was given the loss. The Helsingborg, Sweden native is 4-2-0 on the season.
 
In the 5th-minute Nolan Sherwood fought through a Marauder slide and found the net from about five yards out to give the Battlin' Bears an early 1-0 lead.
 
The second goal of the match came in the 21st-minute from Marco Kummerle and in the 38th-minute Alexander Taylor found teammate Chasen Lasure to give RMC a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
 
There wasn't as much action in the second half but the Battlin' Bears scored its only goal of the period in the 48th-minute from Eddie Cass.
 
The Battlin' Bears outshot the Marauders 17-6 in the match but had three more off-sides.
 
Senior forward Aaron Brennan lead Mary with two shots and junior Jordan Kaubisch and senior Jordan Pearce both had one shot on goal.
 
Mary suffered its second consecutive loss but will get its next chance at 12 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 in Billings, Mont, against California Baptist.
