BISMARCK, ND - The University of Mary scored a season-high seven goals en route to a 7-0 victory over the University of Jamestown Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the MDU Resources Community Bowl.
Senior Jordan Pearce, senior Aaron Brennan and freshman Mitch Carter all scored two goals apiece for the Marauders (6-5-0).
Freshman Jakob Olsson scored the other goal for the home team as Mary bounces back on the winning track.
Mary dominated both periods tallying up 25 total shots which 17 of them were on goal.
Brennan scored the winning goal in the 4th-minute after teammate Olsson found him on the left side of the field as it dribbled in the net past the UJ (4-7-1) goal keeper.
Carter scored back-to-back goals for the Marauders in the 31st-minute and 37th-minute to give Mary a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
Coming out of halftime, Olsson scored his third goal of the season in the 56th-minute off a rebound from Marc Carreras' shot and seven minutes later Pearce extended the Mary lead to 5-0 after his sixth goal of the season that came from about 35-yards out.
Brennan scored his second goal of the match in the 78th-minute off a Will Hall assist and in the 82nd-minute Pearce scored his final goal of the match after bringing the ball down the right side of the field before dodging a few Jimmies to find the right side of the net for the score.
Sophomore goal keeper Ludvig Rhodin earned the win for the Marauders as he collected his sixth of the year (6-5-0). Rhodin saved five UJ shots and even took a free kick in the second period of the match.
Seven goals is the second most goals scored in a match for the Marauders since 2006.
Freshman goal keeper Jake Askew finished with 10 saves but gave up all seven Mary goals and dropped to 0-2-1 on the year for the Jimmies.
Mary will take another 10 days off before taking on Fort Hays State in Hays, Kan., on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
