ABERDEEN, S.D. - The University of Mary grapplers paid a visit to Northern State University tonight, wrapping up the road portion of their regular season. The match turned into a close dual as the Marauders (1-14, 0-7 NSIC) fell to the Wolves (3-11, 1-6 NSIC) 21-16 in a close back-and-forth affair.
Â
Riley Nagel got the first win of the dual for U-Mary at 165 pounds as he defeated Blake Perryman with a 7-4 victory by decision.
Â

Â
Travis Smith has improved a lot this season and he continued to improve with a 4-0 victory by decision over Dustin Caspers at the heavyweight bout.
Â
The match started off with a double forfeit and the Marauder's first grappler at 133 pounds,

Â
Miguel Rivera became the unofficial start to the dual as he took on Tyler Frost at 141 pounds, but the Northern State grappler took the bout after he pinned Rivera and won by fall at 1:55.
Â
Dane Fischer was up next at 149 pounds and he fought hard against Grant Steen but ended up on the negative end of a 12-6 decision.
Â
Paul Michaelson got the call at 157 pounds and ended up losing to Sean Havlovic in a close match that turned into a 6-0 decision in favor of the Northern State wrestler.
Â
Jered Keller was up at 174 pounds and ended up losing by fall to Anthony Navarro after he was pinned at 1:45.
Â
Tom DeVito round out the Marauders' lineup and he, too, provided a tough matchup at 197 pounds against Joe Gomez, but ended up losing the bout by 9-4 decision.
Â
The Marauders return home for their final dual of the year this Friday, February 20, when they take on Minnesota State University Moorehead for U-Mary's Military Appreciation and Senior Night.
