Because the games are against competitors within the same region (Central), the contests are considered exempt from the 26-game schedule limit, allowing all four schools to play 28 games this year.

FIRST TIME FOES
This is the first time the Marauders have faced the Reddies and the Muleriders.

FIRST TIMERS
When U-Mary and Henderson State meet, it will be the start of new coaching eras for both schools. Joe Kittell will run the Marauders show for the first time that counts after arriving from a two-year stint as the Lake Region State College head coach. HSU head coach Jimmy Elgas was hired last April after eight seasons as an assistant at the University of Evansville.

VETERANS
While Joe Kittell may be new to the Marauders, the new U-Mary head coach is surrounded by several veterans. Of the 14 players on the Marauders roster, 11 are upperclassmen and only four student-athletes are new to U-Mary. The squad has four seniors this season and seven juniors.

FAMILIARITY
Marauders fans will be familiar with most of the players on the court this season as U-Mary returns 10 players off last season's roster. Eight players return who started at least one game in their careers: Marquealis Edwards, Bryan Jefferson, Damonta Henry, Devan Douglas, Luke Scott, Brandon Tyler, Michael Gorder and Isaac Lindquist.

DOUGLAS IS BACK
After playing just five games last season due to injury, senior guard Devan Douglas returns for a final season. He averaged 8.0 points per game and shot .523 from the field as a part time starter in 2013-14.

NEWCOMERS
The Marauders will see a couple new players on the court this season. Jr. G/F Ricky Suggs (Woodbury, Minn.) joins U-Mary from Gillette College and Jr. G Erron Collins (Mandan, N.D.) transferred from Bismarck State College. Both will play key reserve rolls for the Marauders. Also making his debut this season is guard Darius Sparks (Bismarck, N.D.), who redshirted last season as a freshman.

REDSHIRTS
Three players will redshirt this season. Jr. G Luke Scott (Minneapolis, Minn.) is recovering from off-season surgery. Sr. G Pat Thomas (Adelaide, South Australia) and Jr. F Trevor Zacher (Beulah, N.D.) both will train this season and begin their U-Mary careers next year.
