Biography

BEFORE U-MARY
Well known to fans in the region, Mandan native Erron Collins played the 2014-15 season at Bismarck State College. In 28 games, including 27 starts, Collins averaged 11.9 points, 3.9 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game as the Mystics point guard. A team captain and judicious with the ball, he had a 1.8 assists to turnover ratio. He shot 40.6 per cent from the floor, 34.5 percent behind the arc and made 66.2 percent of his free throw attempts.
 
Collins began his collegiate career at NCAA Division II South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. He started 11 games as a freshman for the Hardrockers in 2013-14 and tied for the team lead in assists with 62. Collins averaged 3.8 points per game and 1.8 rebounds per game. His efforts earned him 1st team All-Freshman honors for the Independent College Athletic Association (ICAA).
 
An all-state selection as a senior in high school in 2012-13, Collins led Mandan High School to four state tournament appearances and four WDA conference championships. A three-time team captain, the Braves finished second in state his freshman season, third as a sophomore and fourth as a junior. In those four seasons Mandan was 73-23 and he scored 1,015 points. Collins is in the school's top ten in points, assists and steals and earned state all-tournament honors his final two years and all-conference honors his last three seasons. The WDA Senior Athlete of the Year and a finalist for Mr. Basketball and the Class A Basketball Senior Athlete of the Year, he capped his career by averaging 19.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 3.0 assists per game. Collins averaged 12.4 PPG as a junior and 7.9 PPG as a sophomore.
 
Selected to the Mon-Dak Conference All-Academic Team, an NJCAA Academic All-American and a member of Phi Theta Kappa, Erron is the son of Becky and Eddie Collins. His sister Ali is a former all-conference guard for the Marauders women's basketball team. Erron will pursue the pre-medicine program at Mary.

"He is an excellent student and will bring some very beneficial experience at the point guard position to our squad. We are very fortunate that such a talented North Dakota player was still available for us to sign."
