Box Score Bemidji, MN – Facing cold temperatures and strong winds, the University of Mary women's soccer team never found a way to warm up in a 5-0 loss at Bemidji State University.
Mary O'Brien scored the first of her two goals in the 15
th minute on a breakaway shot into the left corner. BSU (10-5 overall, 7-5 NSIC) doubled its lead in the 28
th minute before O'Brien sealed the game early in the second half on a sliding goal in the box off a header at 49:56.
BSU tacked on two more goals in the 73
rd and 84
th minutes.
Mykala Benjamin and
Alex Bachman-Williams both had three shot attempts with one on goal for U-Mary (3-10-2, 3-7-2).
The Marauders struggled against the Beavers defense, generating just three shots on goal out of 10 attempts. BSU managed 14 shots overall with eight on frame. The Beavers also held a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
Sitting 11
th in the NSIC standings with three games left to play, the Marauders next play at the University of Minnesota Crookston on Sunday, Oct. 27.
