Marauers Never Warm Up in Loss to Beavers

Box Score  Bemidji, MN – Facing cold temperatures and strong winds, the University of Mary women's soccer team never found a way to warm up in a 5-0 loss at Bemidji State University.
 
Mary O'Brien scored the first of her two goals in the 15th minute on a breakaway shot into the left corner. BSU (10-5 overall, 7-5 NSIC) doubled its lead in the 28th minute before O'Brien sealed the game early in the second half on a sliding goal in the box off a header at 49:56.
 
BSU tacked on two more goals in the 73rd and 84th minutes.
 
Mykala Benjamin and Alex Bachman-Williams both had three shot attempts with one on goal for U-Mary (3-10-2, 3-7-2).
 
The Marauders struggled against the Beavers defense, generating just three shots on goal out of 10 attempts. BSU managed 14 shots overall with eight on frame. The Beavers also held a 5-2 edge in corner kicks.
 
Sitting 11th in the NSIC standings with three games left to play, the Marauders next play at the University of Minnesota Crookston on Sunday, Oct. 27.
