Box Score Bismarck, ND – In an emotional rollercoaster for both teams, the University of Mary women's soccer team went from ecstasy to agony in seconds. St. Cloud State University edged the Marauders 3-2 just 59 seconds into the second overtime, scoring moments after a potential U-Mary game-winner went off the crossbar.
In a fast start to the second overtime session,
Mykala Benjamin blew past the Huskies defenders on a long breakaway but drilled a shot off the crossbar. St. Cloud State (6-4-1 overall, 3-4-1 Northern Sun) immediately countered with Naomi Kolhoff blasting a shot into the Marauders (2-8-1, 2-5-1) net from 17 yards outside left hash mark. Off a feed from Kara Dahmen, it was Kolhoff's second goal of the game.

Kaitlin Walsh on top of the 7-yard box and bashed the ball into the net. It was the Gillette, WY, native's second goal of the season.
SCSU evened the game in the 59
th minute when Michelle Cornell headed a corner kick into the top right corner.
Less than three minutes later, Benjamin regained the lead for U-Mary at 2-1. Sprinting with the ball down the right sidelines, the sophomore beat the Huskies defender around the corner and scored from outside the goal box.
Kalhoff forced overtime when she scored off a blocked shot in the 80
th minute.
The Huskies had several statistical advantages in the game, leading the Marauders in shots (25-14), shots on frame (12-4) and corner kicks (5-2).
One of the conference leaders in saves,
Shelby Buttron added to her totals with nine saves. Brittany Plombon had two for the Huskies.
The Marauders return to the pitch when they host the University of Minnesota Duluth on Sunday, Oct. 13, at 1 PM at the MDU Resources Bowl.
