Moorhead, MN – The University of Mary dominated the middle weight classes but a late surge by 11^th ranked Concordia College allowed the Cobbers to edge the Marauders 20-18.
 
Both teams claimed five matches. The difference was the Cobbers had one win by technical and also gained a forfeit while the Marauders had one win by pin. The seven other matches were won by decision. 
 
After opening with two losses, the Marauders claimed five of the next six matches, with U-Mary All-American Trevor Johnson earning the squad's first win. Leading by double digits at the 141 weight class, the Bismarck, ND, junior pinned Chase Austvold at the 4:55 mark to pull the Marauders even at 6-6.
 
U-Mary took its first lead of the night when Landon Della Silva earned a 10-4 win over Jake Kostik. The Marauders roll was interrupted at 157 when Kevin Fynboh edged Collin Engelhardt 2-1 in overtime.
 
In one of the most exciting finishes of the night, Brock Krumm got the Marauders back on the winning track. Trailing by one with the 165-pound match in its final seconds, Krumm scored a 2-point takedown to defeat Josten Coleman 5-4 and push U-Mary ahead 12-9.
 
Two more U-Mary victories would follow. Trailing early, sophomore John Devito rallied late for a 3-2 victory at 174 over Sebastian Gardner. Senior Brady Anderson followed with a comfortable 4-1 win against Chris Harrison at 184. Anderson's victory pushed U-Mary ahead 18-9, the Marauders largest lead of the night. It was also the last victory of the night for the visiting squad.
 
The Cobbers climbed within three team points when the Marauders were forced to leave 197 open. Nationally ranked in NCAA Division III, Concordia pulled out the team win in the final match of the day when Cody Kasprick claimed a technical fall victory at 285, defeating freshman Levi Roemmich 18-1.
 
U-Mary slips to 1-2 with the loss. Concordia improves to 4-4.
 
The Marauders return to action at Upper Iowa University on January 17.
