Moorhead, MN – Spearheaded by the offensive efforts of Michelle Jones, the University of Mary exploded for three second-half goals and extended its win streak to six games in a dominating 3-0 win at MSU Moorhead.  The win in the regular season finale clinched fifth place in the Northern Sun for the Marauders, who now open the NSIC / US Bank Women's Soccer Tournament at Minot State University on Wednesday, October 31, at 5 PM.

The Marauders conclude the regular season 10-7 overall and 10-5 with 30 points in the NSIC to claim fifth place. Minot State finished fourth in the conference with 34 points and a mark of 11-3-1 in league play. U-Mary defeated MSU 1-0 at home in overtime to open the season.

Despite controlling play in the first half the Marauders were unable to find the net. That changed in the second half as Jones took over the game.

Just 1:43 out of intermission, Jones found Andrea Muller for the Marauders first goal of the day. It was the sophomore forward's seventh counter of the year. It was also the second straight game she has scored first for U-Mary and her third game-winning goal.

Jones doubled the Marauders advantage when she found the net herself in the 62nd minute. Displaying her all-conference skills, the midfielder served a corner kick directly into the net for the sixth tally of her senior season.

Not yet done, Jones combined with Alex Bachman-Williams a few minutes later to seal the game. Picking up her second assist of the game, Jones set up Bachman-William's team-leading eighth goal at 66:08 to build a 3-0 lead.

Today's effort capped a big weekend for Jones, who had two assists in the Marauders 3-2 overtime win against Northern State University on Friday.

Ashley Akers backstopped the Marauders win, making saves on all three shots the Dragons put on frame. For the game MSUM was held to six shots.

The Marauders put up 20 shots in the game, including seven on net. U-Mary dominated in corner kicks, holding a 9-1 advantage.

MSU Moorhead finishes the season 4-12-2 overall and 3-10-2 in conference play.
