This week’s NDPF Female Athlete of the Week is Doaa Farouk Mohamed. Mohamed was one of two Marauders to go 2-0 on the week in singles competition as UMary split the weekend on the road, dropping a 2-5 contest to Minnesota State before rebounding 4-0 over Southwest Minnesota State. On Saturday, Mohamed persevered in a grueling match that went to a super-tiebreaker, defeating Freia Lawrence of MSU 6-2, 1-6, 1-0 (10-4) in #2 singles. On Sunday, Mohamed won the clincher for UMary, defeating Joana Reis Indio of SMSU 6-1, 6-2. Mohamed, a sophomore from Cairo, Egypt, is 8-2 overall in singles competition this season.
