The University of Mary Marauders

This week’s NDPF Male Athlete of the Week is Treyton Mattern. Mattern put forth two crucial offensive performances, one which resulted in clutch free throw shooting to help the Marauders gain a conference victory on Saturday. On Friday, Mattern was one of five Marauders to score in double digits with a team second-high 11 points while shooting 3-5 from three-point range. On Saturday, Mattern helped lead the Marauders to an 80-76 win over Minnesota Crookston. The Bismarck, ND native was clutch as he drilled six free throws in the final 65 seconds. Mattern finished the game with a team-high 21 points, shooting 75% from the field and adding three assists and two steals. Mattern has been a consistent offensive factor this season with 12.1 points per game and 3.0 assists per game.
