Jamie Reed came to the University of Mary in the summer of 2023 as the interim softball coach and coordinator of athletic compliance and operations.
Reed brings ten years of softball coaching experience to UMary Softball. Most recently, Reed was the head varsity softball coach of Pius X High School in Lincoln, NE, managing all aspects of the program and also launching their first female athlete retreat and expanding it to its fullest capacity. Reed was also head coach of the Locos ‘09 Softball team for three seasons and worked as a Varsity Catholic Missionary for FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) for two years.
Also playing a vital part in her school’s science department, Reed served Pius X High School as a science teacher beginning in 2016 and was the science department chair beginning in 2020.
Reed is a former softball scholar-athlete for Saint Xavier University in Chicago, IL from the fall of 2009 to the spring of 2011. She led the team in slugging percentage (.705) and home runs (10) as a sophomore and was top five in batting average, on-base percentage, RBIs, triples, doubles, and total bases. She later graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2014 with a bachelor of science degree in secondary natural science education.
Reed has also served as an NFCA Member (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) and attends yearly NFCA coaches clinics.
