Biography

2021 (Junior)
Anthony earned the spot at 157 lbs. He put together a 2-4 record before defaulting out of the Super
Regional V Tournament due to injury. Anthony earned an NSIC All-Academic nod for his effort in the
classroom. He was voted the Barn Cat Tough Award by his teammates and coaches for his gutsy
performance against conference foe Minot State to keep the Barrel on the hill.
 
2020 (Sophomore)
Anthony put together an 11-6 record, competing at 149 and 157 lbs. He claimed the title at
the Northland Open, took 2nd at the Tyler Plummer Classic, and brought home fourth place
at the Cobber Open. He registered two major decisions, two technical falls, and five pins on
the year.

2019 (Freshman)
Anthony competed as a redshirt at 149 pounds, earning a 14-13 record with three pins, three techfalls, four major decisions. Anthony also placed 5th at the Dragon Open and 8th at the North Country Open.

PRIOR TO UMARY 
High School
Anthony attended Pachecco HS in California. Anthony competed in wrestling, football, and track becoming a four-time wrestling and three-time track and field letter winner. As a team captain, he was selected as two-time first team all-league, and earned two-time CIF State appearances. Anthony was also a Freakshow Tournament runner up and a Reno World's medalist.
 
Personal
Son of Christina and Anthony Velazquez. Anthony will study Respiratory Therapy at the University of Mary.
