Valerie Lesu

After spending last season as a graduate assistant volleyball coach, Valerie Lesu will begin the 2016 season as an assistant coach for the Marauders under second-year head coach Thais Franca.
 
“I’ve loved the University of Mary ever since I was here as a student-athlete,” Lesu said.
 
After spending two years at Northwest College and earning multiple honors and awards Lesu took here talents up north to UMary in 2011.
 
During her two-year career for the Marauders, Lesu played in 57 matches and recorded 844 digs.
 
A native of Waipahu, Hawaii, Lesu graduated from UMary in the summer of 2013 with a Bachelor of University Studies degree with an emphasis on social work.

She spent the 2013 as a student coach for the Marauders, and midway through the 2014 season she served as a volunteer assistant before being named the graduate assistant in 2015.
 
As Lesu will begin her first ever season as an assistant coach, she will also continue to pursue a master’s degree in Sports and Physical Education Administration.
