Following a successful collegiate career that included all-conference honors for her work on the court and in the classroom, Kayla Ruff joined the University of Mary coaching staff as an assistant in July 2018.

A 2018 graduate from Missouri Western, Ruff earned Summa Cum Laude honors, was a three-time MIAA Scholar-Athlete, earned the Missouri Western State Excellence Award and the Dr. James J. McMillan Award as the Griffons senior scholar-athlete. She also was a member of the MWSU Student Athlete Advisory Committee for 2016-18.

On the court Ruff claimed All-MIAA second team honors as a senior in 2017 after earning honorable mention honors as a sophomore and junior in 2015 and 2016. Also named the Griffons Volleyball Student-Athlete of the Year after her final season after leading her team to the NCAA Division II tournament, Ruff set the school’s season record for digs with 705 (5.3/set) and posted a 35-match double-digit dig streak her senior year, Ruff finished second all-time at Missouri Western with 1,768 career digs in 363 sets.

The Bettendorf, IA, native and Pleasant Valley High School graduate began her collegiate career at NCAA Division I Western Illinois. Ruff was second in the Summit League with .33 aces per set and second on the Leathernecks with 2.47 digs per set.
