Entering his 2nd season on the University of Mary’s staff Derek Myers serves as an Assistant Coach in cross country as well as an assistant in track & field with a primary focus on middle distance and distance events.
 
In his first year with the Marauders, Myers helped lead the Marauders to their 4th consecutive Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Women’s Cross Country Title and 3rd consecutive Women’s Indoor Track & Field Title. While serving as an assistant coach Myers also helped coach 20 All-NSIC performers in cross country and track & field including 5 Northern Sun Champions.
 
Myers assisted the Marauders at the Regional level with 8 NCAA Central Region All-Region Individuals including a Region Champion, a runner-up finish on the women’s side and a University All-Time best 7th place finish on the men’s side.
 
At the national level Myers, made impacts with the Marauders in his first year on staff as well. Myers assisted in the coaching of 7 NCAA DII All-Americans and a 5th place team finish at the 2019 NCAA DII Cross Country Championships.
 
Myers was a 2-time NCAA DII National Qualifier in the 10K while competing for the University of Mary. During his time competing for the Marauders, Myers was named an All-NSIC performer 12 times with 3 Conference Champion performances along with a still-standing NSIC Championship meet record in the 10K. Myers is currently pursuing his master’s degree from the University of Mary in Athletic Administration and Physical Education.
 
Myers was born in Gillette, Wyoming and lived there until graduating from Campbell County High School in 2014.
