Entering his 2nd season at the University of Mary, Jamison Dietrich works with the Marauders men's and women's cross country and track & field programs.
In the 2020/2021 Season, Dietrich coached the individual national champion in the women’s 5,000m and 10,000m in Ida Narbuvoll. Narbuvoll set the national meet record in the 5,000m running 15:37 en route to her victory. Narbuvoll also won Conference, Regional, and National Track Athlete of the Year. Four school records were broken by athletes Dietrich directly coached during the 2021 Outdoor campaign. Steven Brown broke the 5,000m school record running 14:20. Elizabeth Acheson broke the 800m school record running 2:08. Ida Narbuvoll broke the 5,000m and 10,000m school records running 15:37 and 33:32 respectively. During the 2020/2021 season, Dietrich also helped coach 6 NCAA First Team All-Americans, 5 NCAA Second Team All-Americans, 11 Conference Champions, 26 All-NSIC Performers and 10 USTFCCCA All-Academic Individuals. The women’s team also won the 2021 Outdoor Track Conference Championship.
Prior to working at the University of Mary, Dietrich coached the Century High School boys cross country and track team for 3 years in North Dakota. While working with Century High School Dietrich coached 12 All-State and 14 All-Conference Class A runners in cross country. He also coached the individual state champion in cross country in 2017. Dietrich coached 2 state team champions in cross country (2017 & 2019) and 1 state team runner-up(2018). In track and field, Dietrich coached 2 Class A team champions (2018 & 2019). He coached the 2017 3200m state champion and 3 relay state champion teams.
Dietrich was a member of the University of Mary cross country and track team. He also was a 2-time All-Conference and 1-time All-State high school runner at the Class A level in North Dakota. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Mary in 2020. Dietrich completed his NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification and makes conscious decisions to continue education through seminars and instructional clinics.
A native of Bismarck, ND, Dietrich has spent 23 years in the Bismarck area. He comes from a large family with 5 siblings. In 2018 Dietrich married Ida Narbuvoll. Narbuvoll is a native of Narbuvoll, Norway. Together they have a dog, Luna.
