A former NCAA Division II student-athlete and NCAA Division I graduate assistant coach, Mariah Nimmo has joined the University of Mary as the Marauders Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. She will also serve as an advisor for the UMary Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

A native of Groveland, IL, Nimmo was a strength and conditioning graduate assistant at Illinois State University in 2015-17. With the Redbirds she oversaw the year-round training for the women's swimming and diving, women's tennis and the men's golf teams and assisted with women's basketball, women's soccer, men's and women's track & field, women's volleyball and football.

In addition to earning her master's degree at ISU in Kinesiology and Recreation – Psychology of Sport and Physical Activity, Nimmo is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and has a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification (SCCC) from the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. "Adding Mariah as a full time assistant strength and conditioning coach is a huge step for our athletic department as it will allow us to better serve our student athletes," said Marauders Head Strength and Conditioning Coach Michael Silbernagel. "Her knowledge and passion for strength and conditioning along with experience at both the Division I and Division II levels makes her a great fit."

A four-year member of the University of Southern Indiana women's basketball team as a point guard and a SAAC member, Nimmo helped the Screaming Eagles to the 2015 NCAA Division II tournament as a senior. She graduated from USI in 2015 with a bachelor of science degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Strength and Conditioning and twice earned Great Lakes Valley Conference all-academic honors.

Nimmo is the first full-time assistant for the Marauders Strength and Conditioning program, which has grown from one full-time coach in 2011 to its current staff of two full-time coaches and two graduate assistant coaches.
