Gianni Honsel, from Münster, Germany, joined the UMary Women’s Soccer Staff as a Graduate Assistant/Goalkeeper Coach. Gianni brings a wealth of experience both as a player and coach, having played at some of the highest levels of soccer in Germany, including Borussia Dortmund, VFL Bochum, and the German national team.
Gianni began his collegiate soccer career at Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona, where he played as a goalkeeper from 2019 to 2022 and earned an associate degree in arts. He continued his education and soccer journey at Webber International University in Florida, where he played from 2022 to 2024, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Currently, Gianni is pursuing his MBA in business operations at the University of Mary.
Gianni's extensive playing experience has provided him with a solid foundation in the game, which he now applies to coaching at UMary, contributing to the development and success of the goalkeepers and the overall team.
