Jason Mattheis begins his third season as an assistant coach for the Marauders Women’s Basketball team. Jason, a native of Hazen, ND, graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a degree in Social Studies Education and a minor in Athletic Coaching. Jason has spent the past sixteen years as a social studies and business education teacher at Garrison High School. He spent ten of those years as the head boys’ basketball coach. During his tenure, the Troopers qualified for the regional tournament seven times, won the District 10 championship in 2014, and advanced to the regional championship in 2013. Jason was also named the District 10 coach of the year in 2012 and 2015. Jason has also served as an assistant football coach, head football coach, and head legion baseball coach during his time in Garrison.
Jason is currently an Information Technology Specialist with EduTech. Jason lives in Garrison with his wife, Mary, and daughter, Freya.
