The University of Mary Marauders

In Payan’s first season with the Marauders, he helped coach multiple events such as short sprints and long sprints, short and long hurdles, and vertical and horizontal jumps. During the 2020-21 indoor season, Payan helped the Marauders achieve a 3rd place finish for the Women’s team and a 5th place finish for the Men’s team at the NSIC Conference Championships. He helped coached conference qualifiers in both men’s and women’s squads, with 7 top 10 finishes in the men’s, and 5 top 10 finishes in the women’s side. His biggest accomplishments indoor came when he helped coach a Conference champion in the triple jump, 4th place finish in the high jump, and a runner-up in the 60m hurdles. In addition, he helped coached a national qualifier, in which she achieved 2nd team All-American finish in the 60m hurdles. 
 
During the 2021 outdoor season, Payan helped the Marauders achieve a Conference Championship title for the Women’s team and a 10th place finish for the Men’s team. Payan helped coach conference qualifiers in both men’s and women’s division. In which he had 5 top 10 finishes in the men’s and 7 top 10 finishes in the women. His biggest accomplishments outdoor when he helped coach 2 conference champions in the women’s long jump and triple jump, a runner-up in the women’s 100m hurdles, 3rd place finish in the Men’s 4x100m relay, and a 3rd place finish in the Men’s 4x400m relay. In addition, Payan helped coached a National Qualifier in the 100m hurdles, in which she achieved a 2nd team All-American.
