Reece Vega enters his third season as the Assistant Track & Field and Cross Country Coach for the Marauders as well as his 13
th year coaching. Vega is the 2019 NSIC Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year as well as the 2018 Central Region Women’s Assistant Coach of the Year.

Last season Vega helped the Lady Marauders to both indoor and outdoor conference team titles for the second year in a row and back-to-back runner up conference finishes for the Men’s team. Vega has had 21 NCAA All-American in his first two years at UMary as well as 14 NSIC Conference Champions, a fourth place NCAA indoor national championship team finish and numerous school records.

Prior to UMary, Vega was the Head Track & Field Coach at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY for a year and at Graceland Unversty in Lamoni, IA for four years. In his lone season at Saint Rose, Vega led the team to break six school records with three USTFCCA All-Region selections. At Graceland, Vega led the team to its highest track & field national ranking in program history with the men ranking 19
th in the nation and the women hitting the 24
th spot. In his time at Graceland he had 14 All-Americans, 40 National Qualifiers, and numerous conference honors.

Vega was both a graduate assistant and assistant coach at Minot State before going to Graceland.
As a coach for Minot State, Vega coached 15
NAIA National Qualifiers, an
NAIA All-American and 23 athletes who have placed on the Minot State Top 10 list.

Vega ran for North
Dakota State University where he was an All-American and broke school records in the indoor 600m, and the indoor and outdoor 4x400m relays. He also helped lead the Bison to a third place team finish at the 2004 Division II Outdoor National Championships. Vega, a St. Charles, Minn. native, graduated from NDSU with a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration and has his Master’s in Business Management from
Minot State University. Reece is marred to Cassandra Vega and they currently reside in Lincoln, ND.
