A team captain and two-year starter at Cosumnes River Community College, Jaycob Velasco is a 6-7, 265-pound post from Chico, Calif. He earned 1^st team All-Big 8 conference honors in  2013-14 while leading Cosumnes River to the California State JC state tournament quarterfinals and a record of 23-9 record. Velasco averaged 16.1 points per game while grabbing a team-high 9.5 rebounds per game. He shot 52.7 per cent from the field, 39.7 per cent from downtown and 82 per cent from the free-throw line. He had a season-high 26 points against Merritt JC and a career-high 20 rebounds against Monterey JC.  As a redshirt freshman in 2012-13, Velasco was named honorable mention All-Big 8 while averaging 12.6 points per game and 7.3 rebounds per game.
 
As a senior at Pleasant Valley High School, Velasco averaged 11.3 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game while being named 3^rd team All-Northern Section by the CIF in 2010.  He also earned 1^st team All-Eastern conference honors for the second time. Velasco helped Pleasant Valley HS to an 18-11 record and an appearance in the CIF Northern California regional playoffs.
 
A multi-sport athlete, Velasco was also a standout tight end on the gridiron in high school, earning All-Eastern Athletic League honors twice.
 
Jaycob is the son of Rebecca Vitkauskas. He is planning on majoring in athletic training at U-Mary.
