Bruggeman Casey

Casey Bruggeman

Casey Bruggeman returns for his second season with the University of Mary men’s basketball program. In just first season with the Marauders he helped the team with individual workouts, game planning, scouting opponents, and recruiting. The Marauders finished 12-17 and finished tied for the 8th place in the NSIC standings. Bruggeman began his collegiate coaching career at the University of Mary as a graduate assistant coach in the 2016-17 season.

A 2016 graduate of Concordia College, Bruggeman played guard for the Cobbers before suffering a career-ending hip surgery that led him into the role of a student assistant his senior season. A native of Pelican Rapids, Minnesota, Bruggeman graduated with a degree in mathematics education.

“We had over 50 applicants for our graduate assistant position and Casey without a doubt stood out the most,” said Marauders head coach Joe Kittell. “He’s a smart guy that has the right attitude and work ethic. Everyone he meets just knows he will be successful. Casey’s connection to high school basketball in western Minnesota will be a key resource for us when it comes to recruiting.”

“In all my years of coaching, never have I had a player who, because of injury and could not compete, become a leader of our team. Casey was that one guy who did that.” Rich Glas (Former) Head Coach Concordia College
