After joining the Northern State staff as Offensive Coordinator for the 2010 season, Martin became the Wolves Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator in 2011 and helped create a dynamic, league-leading offense. While at NSU, he has coached quarterbacks, punters, receivers and running backs. Martin has coached seven first team all-conference players and created the best red zone offense in the NSIC in 2017.

Three of Martin’s offensive players earned first or second all-NSIC honors and the team tied the school game scoring record. He coached five all-conference players in 2015. In 2014, Martin led the explosive Wolves offense to one of its best in years. The NSU offense ranked at the top of the NSIC in scoring offense, passing offense, and total offense; while ranking first in red zone scoring. Jared Jacobson, a First Team All-Conference Selection quarterback, led the NSU front finishing his career third all-time in the NSIC in total career yards. Jacobson’s career was also highlighted with school records in single season passing completions (260), single season total offense (3,557), career touchdowns (71), and total career offense (10,199).

Martin spent seven seasons at Jamestown (2003-09), including six as the Offensive Coordinator. He coached 17 all-conference players, two conference players of the year and two All-Americans with the Jimmies. While at Jamestown, the Jimmies made it to the national playoffs in 2006 and 2007, as well as a Dakota Athletic Conference title (2007). The Jimmies led the DAC in scoring three straight years (2006-08) and was the league’s top rushing offense in 2006.

A 2001 graduate of St. Cloud State University with a degree in Social Science and Secondary Education, Martin began his collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant (2000-03) and helped the Huskies win a conference title in 2002. He coached tight ends, offensive tackles, punters and quarterbacks, including two all-conference performers and one All-American.
