The University of Mary Marauders

2022 (Junior)
Derek started in all 51 games the Marauders played this season. He was ranked 21^st in the NSIC for his team-high batting average of .339. He also led the team in walks (35), slugging percentage (.644), RBIs (51), and home runs (14). Derek broke the school record for home runs in a single season (14) and RBI's in a single season (51). He also moved up to 3rd on the Marauders all-time home runs list. Derek was named to the NSIC first-team for the second straight year. Named to the NSIC Academic Team of Excellence. Also named to the CoSida Academic All-District Baseball Team.

2021 (Sophomore)
In Derek’s Sophomore year, he was selected to the first team NSIC all-conference team. Derek led the team in home runs (11), Slugging (.667), OBS (1.081) and hit by pitches (8). Derek ranked in the top ten in multiple offensive categories within the NSIC. Derek also made 7 starts on the mound collecting 37 innings and striking out 33 batters. Derek plays for the Bismarck Larks in the summer. 
 
PRIOR TO UMARY
2019-20 (Sophomore @ Iowa Western CC)
In the shortened season due to COVID-19 Derek hit .323 in 12 games with one homerun.
 
2018-2019 (Freshman @ Iowa Western CC)
Derek and the Reivers of Iowa Western made it to the Juco World Series Championship game and were one of the top five teams in the nation for the season. Derek was a two-way player for the Reivers for their Championship run.

Derek enjoys fishing in his boat while he’s not on the field playing.
