Travis Hendrickson

A former collegiate baseball player with college and youth baseball coaching experience, Travis Hendrickson begins his third season with the University of Mary baseball coaching staff.  This will be his second season as head assistant coach, recruiting coordinator and head junior varsity Coach for the Marauders.  In addition to working with Marauders baseball, he is also an academic advisor and liaison for athletics and Health Sciences at U-Mary.
In his two seasons, Hendrickson has coached 27 NSIC Academic All-Conference award winners, as well as one CoSIDA Academic All-District/Academic All-American award recipient.  The Marauders have earned back to back team academic awards from the American Baseball Coaches Association. The team was one of 34 NCAA Division II teams awarded in 2016-17 and just one of four schools in the Northern Sun.
Hendrickson previously served as the assistant baseball coach at Presentation College in Aberdeen, S.D. from 2013-2015. He worked with outfielders, catches, base runners and hitters while helping grow the Saints roster from 18 players to 30.
 
The past three summers he has been the head assistant and pitching coach for an Eden Prairie Legion 2 squad that finished 21-9 and won the Todd Oakes League Championship in 2015.  The past three seasons the Eagles have posted a combined .653 winning percentage. In 2014, he had the same role with a Wayzata Junior Legion team that finished 27-10 and runner-up in the state tournament.
 
Hendrickson has also served as the Baseball Operations Manager/Senior Instructor at Pine Tar Baseball Academy and has been a clinician for the Pine Tar Baseball Academy, Northland College Baseball, Central Lakes College Baseball and Minnesota Baseball Academy. He has also been a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association since 2013.
 
A graduate of Rogers (Minn.) Senior High School, Hendrickson played one season at Central Lakes (Minn.) College before competing three seasons for the Northland College Lumberjacks in Ashland, Wis. A first baseman and pitcher, he was a two-time team captain and the 2013 Lumberjack Offensive Player of the Year. He also was a three-time Upper Midwest all-conference player and twice earned UMAC academic all-conference honors. The all-time career triples leader and the single season RBI record holder for the Lumberjacks, he is in the top ten of career statistics/records at Northland in eight offensive and four pitching categories.
 
Hendrickson earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in coaching from Northland in 2013. He received a master’s degree in Sports Performance and Leadership from Northern (S.D.) State University in 2015 where he was a graduate assistant in the School of Education working primarily in Exercise Science and Human Performance.
