A former professional baseball player and a native of Magnolia, New Jersey, Kevin J. Walsh joined the Marauders coaching staff as the Pitching Coach just prior to the 2017 season.
Kevin attended Gloucester County College between 2011 to 2013. During his time at G.C.C., Kevin became the closer for the Roadrunners and helped them achieve a second place finish in the NJCAA Division III World Series in 2011. During his 2013 Sophomore season at G.C.C., Kevin pitched twelve scoreless innings helping the roadrunners amass a 46-3 record. Later in that year, Kevin pitched the last inning to seal the victory for the Roadrunners in becoming the World Series National Champions of the NJCAA in 2013 under the Skip Bertman National Coach of the Year Mike Dickson.
Kevin continued his baseball career playing in the Southwestern Athletic Conference at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. During his two-year time, the Golden Lions won back-to-back SWAC Western Conference Division titles in 2014 and 2015. Kevin received first Team All-Conference honors as a relief pitcher for the Golden Lions in 2014 and 2015. During his 2015 senior campaign, Kevin appeared in 23 games achieving a 4-2 record with an ERA of 1.70, striking out 60 hitters in 42 innings of work. Kevin also received national recognition as having one of the best Strikeouts per Nine innings at 11.48. He was awarded the 2014 and 2015 All S.W.A.C. Relief Pitcher of the Year honors.
Kevin continued to play beyond his collegiate career by having the honor of being selected in the 21st Round of the 2015 MLB First Year Player Draft by the Philadelphia Phillies. Kevin continued to play at the next level for a couple years, both professionally with the Phillies and independently with the Southern Illinois Miners in the Frontier League under head coach Mike Pinto.
As a coach, Kevin became a Baseball Instructor and AAU Coach/Pitching Coordinator for TEAM COMBAT for Scanzano Sports in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Kevin also is the Head Coach for the Bismarck Senators, the Senior Babe Ruth Legion Team in Bismarck, along with Assistant Coach for both the Bismarck Representatives and the Bismarck Governors.
Kevin received his Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Wellness and is continuing his education by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Athletic Administration from the University of Mary
