Born in Burnsville, Minnesota on June 17 1993, Casey grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona. He attended Notre Dame Prep High School. Casey was drafted in the 47th round by the Colorado Rockies in the 2011 MLB Draft, he then went on to attend Arizona Western College from 2011-2013 for 2 years before transferring to Campbellsville University. Casey played under Drew Keehn at Arizona Western. In 2011-2012 played in the ACCAC (Arizona Community College Athletic Conference) Baseball Tournament and was named 2nd Team Shortstop in the ACCAC. He played for Campbellsville University from 2013-2016 under Beauford Sanders. Casey's junior year he medically redshirted. The next two year his team won the Mid South Conference Regular Season and was Nationally Ranked. In 2015-16 they won the Mid South Conference Tournament. The two years he played they lost in the NAIA Regional Championship to go to the World Series.
Casey graduated from Campbellsville University with a Bachelors of Science in Communications, and earned a Master’s Degree in Human Resources from University of Mary in 2019. Casey started coaching in 2017 for the Kentucky Wesleyan College under Todd Lillpop. The Panthers went on to win the GMAC Tournament (Great Midwest Athletic Conference) for the first time in School History. They made it to the NCAA Division 2 Baseball Regionals and won 2 games most in school history.
Casey is entering his 3nd Season Coaching for The University of Mary…… Mother Liz Scott works for ESPN and father Darryl Scott is the Bullpen Pitching Coach for the Colorado Rockies. Casey's brother Ryan is a Coach in the Seattle Mariners Organization. Youngest brother Christopher was a member of the University of Mary Baseball Program from 2016-2019 earning a Rawlings All American Gold Glove award in 2019.
