TEMPE, AZ – A dominant second period by the 11^th ranked University of Mary hockey team carried the Marauders to a 3-1 win at #RV Arizona State University. The Marauders tallied twice in the middle stanza while outshooting the Sun Devils nearly 3-to-1.
 
UMary improves to 2-0 after two wins in Arizona to open the 2026-27 season. ASU is 3-2.
 
Nick Bradshaw gave the Marauders the early lead just 3:45 into the game. Flying down the slot and crashing the far post, Bradshaw tapped home a Crae Dawson pass from the left side of the crease into a wide open net.
 
The Marauders doubled their lead just 23 seconds into the second period when John Lang split three defenders and fired the puck into the next for his second goal of the season.
 
Taking advantage of the third Sun Devils penalty of the period, Dylan Cunningham fired a long shot through traffic at 12:05 for a power play goal and a 3-0 lead.
 
UMary held a 27-10 edge in shots in the second period and entered the final period with a 3-1 lead after Arizona State scored at 18:31.
 
Both teams had two power play opportunities in the third but neither could score. For the game the Marauders were 1-for-5 with a man advantage while the Sun Devils failed to score in four chances with an extra skater.
 
Making his first start of the season, UMary goaltender Zane Clausen stopped 30 out of the 31 shots he faced. Nathaniel Glenn made 46 saves for ASU.
 
Nine different Marauders picked up a point in the game.
 
UMary now travels to The Last Frontier for exhibition games against NCAA Division I programs University of Alaska Fairbanks on Friday, September 25, and the University of Alaska Anchorage on Saturday, September 26.
